Buying Spyfinders Is No Longer Looked At As Being Paranoid

Why the hell would the average person need anti surveillance gear?

If privacy is diminished, who are you gonna call

are you wondering if some dude is watching your every move? A bug detector may just be what you need. The weirdest thing is how we seem to be loosing our privacy like they used to portray it in the movies, only it’s becoming real now.

Still, we often don’t seem to get it. Laws pass that should make us really scared of the society of tomorrow, but we sleep on it like babies instead. But beyond that, there are people who may want to target you specifically. And they will use a variety of video and audio surveillance equipment.Pocket phone recorders, spyware, cameras.

TSCM equipment allow you to detect such invasive threats.Probing the room you are in, the bug detecting gear will be able to tell you if there is such a threat.

If the government is after you, your little device will not find anything, even if it’s there. There are different levels of sophistication. But if you are just an average person, without a bad record, and without a ton of money, than your local spy shop probably have the products that will tell you if you are free of such things.

If this is the case, than it’s another thing entirely. The spying equipment will be much more sophisticated and may require that you hire a pro TSCM person.Basic bug detectors would not do it here.

Security Systems From Norbain (case Study)

Large-scale retail environments are ideally placed to take advantage of the many benefits that IP-based CCTV security solutions offer, as demonstrated by IndigoVision’s recent installation during renovations at Northgate Mall in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

The mall has more than 102 000 m² of retail space and over 100 specialty shops and four department stores. 27 cameras monitor the main public shopping areas inside the mall and the surrounding areas around the outside of the building. CCTV

As John Loftus, managing director of Norbain SA (distributors of IndigoVision in Africa) explains, “Existing network infrastructure could be used and long distance cables are not required. Cameras can also be moved with minimum time and effort, without needing to replace cables and they can be installed at any location as long as it is near the Ethernet infrastructure.”

Control Center, IndigoVision’s IP video and alarm management software, allows operators to view live and recorded video from any of the cameras. Two Control Center workstations are used, one in the main security control room and one in the manager’s office. Video is recorded using IndigoVision’s network video recorder (NVR) software running on a Windows 2003 server.

The flexibility of IndigoVision’s IP video solution allows workstations, cameras and NVRs to be located at any point on the network. This creates a ‘virtual matrix’ that replaces the traditional analogue switching matrix providing for remote monitoring and a truly scalable solution for future expansion.

Each camera at Northgate is connected to an IndigoVision 8000 transmitter/receiver module, which converts the analogue feed to DVD-quality digital video for transmission over the network. Each 8000 module can also transmit two-way high-quality audio and interface to hardwired I/O. Access control

Bandwidth can be controlled for each camera, and different streams at different bandwidths are available for viewing across different networks. WAN uses low bandwidth for instance, whereas bandwidth is set to high for LAN connections.

Northgate Mall’s security team works very closely with the local police and has assisted them on several occasions by supplying video clips of incidents from outside cameras. Video clips can be exported from Control Center for evidential purposes using sophisticated encryption and watermarking techniques to ensure the material is tamper-proof.

Loftus concludes, “We have arrived at the point where IP-based systems are not only cheaper in the long run, but even startup costs can be lower than conventional systems, especially above the 64 cameras mark.” Security systems

The IP-CCTV system, which was supplied by Norbain South Africa, is part of an integrated security system that includes access control, intruder detection, perimeter security and fire detection all of which were designed and installed by Afrisec. The systems are fully integrated across a newly installed 1000 Gbit LAN running on a fibre backbone, with wireless network links for more remote sites. The system will also provide services such as IP telephony and intercoms. The Safety & Security Directorate, which operates the system, worked closely with Afrisec who produced the initial Security Master Plan from which the system was implemented.

Public Records - Their Uses

There are lots of different reasons why a person might want to uncover information from the public records. For instance, there is the case where a person is trying to track down a missing friend or family member. Or there are times when you are trying to put together [spin]biographical|background|personal|individual[spin] information about a famous person for a history project. Whatever your reason, there are some good quality resources that you should be aware of.

social security search

The first thing that you need to know about is the social security number search sites. These are sites that allow you to search using a social security number, and will help you if you think that a person is using a fake ID. Every single adult in the US has a social security number - it is a unique way of identifying an individual. Sometimes, a person may take a false social security number, possibly one of a dead person. In this instance, the ssn search sites can help to locate this.

social security death records

These types of site give you information about people who are deceased, and cover the last 100 years or so. This is useful for many different uses - one example is that of a private detective who is searching for a missing person. If he finds a positive match on this list, he knows that there is no reason to look any further. It can also be a useful tool to use when you are looking for missing or long lost schoolfriends.

public criminal records

Criminal records sites are beneficial when doing a people search on a person. Sometimes, a person applying for a job may have a murky past, possibly related to the industry or position being applied for. Using this kind of website, a potential employer can check the background records to see if there is a record of a previous conviction. Needless to say, these resources are for lawful uses only, and abuses will definitely be acted upon.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg - there are lots of different services that you can use to look up information about people. I recommend that you follow the links in this article to find out more about the topics covered.
